About PBF Search
1.Contact Searching
What were Apple thinking? No way to search contacts using the keyboard? Well “Search” fixes this glaring omission by allowing you to search your contacts based on their names, company, position, department, or any notes you have on them. Then you can simply tap on their phone number to dial it, tap on their email to send them an email. You can even use contact search to dial any phone number. Just type it in the search field, and tap “Dial” in the top right. It will then dial the number you have entered in the search field.
2.Calendar Event Searching
Another oversight, how can one be expected to remember the date of a particular appointment? We’ll now with search you don’t have to, you can search calendar events based on the event summary, description, location etc.
3.Dial-A-Date
Ever wanted to find out what events you had on a particular day in several months time, but got RSI from tapping through the months to find the one you want in the calendar? With “Search”, you can now dial up a date, and then jump straight to it in Calendar.
What’s Planned
•Complete contact information, physical addresses, contact pictures etc.
•Localisation for international users.
•Maybe more generalised search (Spotlight Style)
FAQ:
How do I install Search?
Firstly at the moment you must have a jailbroken iPhone (just until Apple get that SDK out). There are plenty of tutorials around on how to jailbreak. Then simple use the “Installer” application to install Search, which you’ll find under the “Utilities” category.
